Branson Waves Swim Team

The Branson Waves Swim Team is a summer program designed to offer a competitive swimming experience to boys and girls ages 5 to 18.   The team is parent driven on a volunteer basis and is funded by the City of Branson Parks & Recreation Department. Click here to download the 2010 Parent Handbook.

All youth must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) on their own to be eligible to participate on the team.  Practices begin in May after school and continue Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 9:30am after school concludes.

We are currently registering for the 2010 Branson Waves Swim team.  You click on the attached 2010 Parent Information Flyer for more information, including information on the parent meeting scheduled for Friday, April 9 at 6:00pm at the Branson RecPlex. Please fill out the registration form below and bring it to the meeting.

Our goals for our swimmers:

  • Become better swimmers by improving strokes and endurance

  • Increase knowledge of swimming

  • Grow through physical and mental discipline

  • Develop a sense of team-work among their peers

  • Build self-confidence by achieving personal goals, such as bettering individual times rather than just racing against others

  • Having fun and making new friends

Our Purpose
Participating in the swim team provides an opportunity for kids to become better swimmers by improving strokes and endurance, to increase their knowledge of swimming, and to meet new friends and have fun.  Swimming in meets builds confidence, as well as self gratification in kids.  It's the cleanest sport there is.

Emphasis
Our staff concentrates on four things: Building character and self-confidence... Teaching physical fitness through swimming.... Teaching swimming strokes and endurance.... Building organizational skills- working together and getting along with one another.  We do not push winning as individuals or as a team.  We encourage our kids to beat their own times- swim faster than the last time.
